On November 15, 2012, three homes on the north side of Franklin County were burglarized. These homes are located on County Road 2170, County Road NW 1013 and County Road 1050. In all three burglaries, the suspect(s) took guns, jewelry and jewelry boxes. Other items taken include a laptop computer and a jar of coins. Storage Buildings Burglarized in Mt. Vernon

The Northeast Texas Area Crime Stoppers and the Mt. Vernon Police Department need your help to solve this crime of the week. Sometime between September 26^th and October 2^nd, unknown actor(s) broke into a storage unit at the Oak Village Storage Buildings on Rutherford Street. A second burglary of a storage building was also reported on October 8^th at the Kwik Kleen Storage Building on Highway 37 in Mt. Vernon. In both burglaries, only household items were taken.

Utility Copper Theft
September 25, 2012

The Northeast Texas Area Crime Stoppers and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office need your help to solve this crime of the week. Sometime between Monday, September 17^th and Tuesday, September 25^th, unknown suspects(s) cut copper power lines from poles in the area of Texas Highway 37 and County Road 1030 to Texas Highway 37 and County Road 2210. A total of approximately 4700 feet of copper wire was taken with a total value of $27,000.00.

Tractor Theft in Franklin County
August 04, 2012

The Northeast Texas Area Crime Stoppers and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office need your help to solve this crime of the week. On August 2, 2012 at approximately 9:00 PM, unknown person(s) stole a 1990 blue Ford 5900 tractor with hay hooks on the front, and an eight foot Rhino TW96 shredder from a property located at the intersection of CR 2140 and CR 2100. Witnesses in the area reported seeing a mid to late 1990’s white Ford 1-ton dually with dark tinted windows and fuel tank in the bed, pulling a black gooseneck trailer with no rails and fold-up ramps, in the area. Another witness later observed the same truck and trailer with a tractor loaded on it at the intersection of Highway 271 and Farm to Market 71 in Talco, traveling east on FM 71. Video surveillance obtained from a local business shows that a dark colored truck may also be involved in the theft.

Burglary - South Franklin Auto Repair

The Northeast Texas Area Crime Stoppers and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office need your help to solve this crime of the week. At some time between July 21^st and July 23^rd, 2012, unknown person(s) gained access to South Franklin Auto Repair located at 6944 FM 115. Once inside, numerous hand tools, including a large quantity of Snap-On Tools, and other equipment totaling approximately $10,000.00, were taken from the location.

At approximately 6:30 PM on May 22, 2012, the victim left her 2002 Beige Buick Lesabre four door car bearing Texas license plate 252-BVF on the side of County Road SE 3350, just south of Farm to Market 900 E, after it broke down. When they came back to retrieve the vehicle at approximately 6:00 PM on May 23, 2012, the vehicle was gone.

Oleo Landing Storage Burglary
March 13, 2012

Sometime between February 2, 2012 and March 8, 2012, unknown actor(s) broke into a storage building at Oleo Landing Storage, located off of Farm to Market 3007 at Mary King Park in Franklin County. Once inside the storage unit, the actor(s) took a Briggs & Stratton 9hp generator, a Campbell Hausfeld Cordless Air Compressor, assorted nail and brad guns, multiple saws and other assorted power tools. Total value of items stolen was reported as $2,856.44.

Theft on Southeast (SE) 4340
February 01, 2012

Some time between December 11^th and December 12^th, 2011, unknown actor(s) entered property located on County Road SE 4340 in the Clearwater Community of Franklin County. While on the property, the actor(s) stole approximately $5,500 worth of Snap-on Tools with the initials “R.M.” etched on them, two (2) 50’ welding leads, two (2) 6” steel pipes, two (2) stainless steel grading belts and five (5) coils of copper tubing.
